Revised TNTET Weightage Marks Calculator – To determine Weightage for HSC, D.T.Ed., Degree, B.Ed., and TET (incorporating 5% mark concession for reserved categories)

(Update: 15-02-2014 – TNTET Weightage for recrutiment of Secondary Grade Teacher and Graduate Teachers -TGT Changed as per Tamilnadu G.O.(Ms).No.25 dated 06.02.2014 and G.O.(Ms).No.29 dated 14.02.2014 incorporating the 5% mark concession granted to all reserved Categories – As per the revised TNTET Weightage reserved categories such as BC, MBC, MBC-Muslims, SC/ST, PH etc will be declared as pass in TET if they scored 55% and above. As per this revised TNTET weightage if marks scored in TNTET is from 55% to 59%, then candidates will be alloted with TNTET weightage of 36 marks)

As per requirement under Right To Education Act, Tamilnadu Government conducts Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET) to recurit Secondary Grade Teachers and Graduate Teachers. Candidates who apply for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher and Graduate Assistants have to pass TET.

Further, As per Tamilnadu Government G.O .(Ms) . No.252 dated 05.10.2012 (click here to read GO) selection and appointment to Secondary Grade Teacher Post and Graduate Assistants will be based on TNTET weightage Marks calculated using marks scored in TET and Educational Qualifications viz., Higher Secondary exam, D.T.Ed., (Diploma in Teacher Education), Degree Exam (Graduation), and B.Ed.,

Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test Weightage for Secondary Grade Teachers

For the purpose of selection and appointment of Secondary Grade Teachers, from TET which carries a maximum weightage mark of 60, education qualifications of candidate viz., Higher Secondary (+2), and D.T.Ed. will be given weightage marks in the following manner.

Tamilnadu Government also directs that the appointment to the post of Secondary Grade Teachers, the existing procedure i.e. selection through Employment Exchange in state wide seniority may be continued till the final verdict of Hon'ble Supreme Court in Special Leave Petition Number 18227 and 18228 of 2008 filed by the Government.

(a) There shall be 100 marks in Total as full marks

(b) The Computation of 100 marks will be in the following manner

(i) Higher Secondary Exam : 15 marks

(ii) D.T.Ed., / D.E.Ed., Exam : 15 marks

(iii) Teacher Eligibility Test : 60 marks

(i)        For Higher Secondary Exam (12th Standard)

Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test Weightage For Graduate Assistants

For the purpose of selection and appointment of Graduate Assistants (Graduate Teachers), apart from TET which carries a maximum weightage mark of 60, education qualifications of candidate viz., Higher Secondary (+2), Degree, and B.Ed., will also be given weigtage marks in the following manner

(a) There shall be 100 marks in total as full marks

(b) The computation of 100 marks will be in the following manner

(i)      Higher Secondary Exam – 10 marks

(ii)      Degree Exam – 15 marks

(iii)      B. Ed. Exam – 15 marks

(iv)      Teacher Eligibility Test – 60 marks

(c) Marks shall be given for item (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) of clause (b), in the manner mentioned hereunder

(i)      For Higher Secondary Exam (1ih Standard)

Note: After computation of marks, based on the above selection criteria, if more than one candidate have the same mark, then preference in selection will be based on the date of birth.(the older person will be given priority)
